I vaguely recall stewart woodward posting some rather nice snow reports last season during the first week of May. Fresh tracks, blue skies, that kind of thing...

Val d'Isere, Tignes, Val Thorens and Les 2 Alpes will have some terrain open in the first few days of May.
The rest will be shut.

If I recall correctly, Tignes, Val D'Isere and Val Thorens' websites all state that they are open for skiing on 4th May then closed afterwards.
Chamonix's site is saying that the Grand Montets area is open until 11th May! Yippee! We'll be there on 5th May, after skiing Espace Killy on 3rd/4th!

You know it makes sense.

Sorry John you do not recall correctly. Tignes closes on the 11th May this year. Today looks like a gret day, new snow & clear skies
