Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Din setting window obscured

Hi,

I used my new B2's in Whistler for the first time the week before last and found that on the first day i kept skiing out of the bindings. I'm used to skiing on groomed french pistes with a small amount of off piste and skiing the crud on some of whistler's pistes was causing me to turn out of my bindings.

So i stopped at one of the lift stations to use the tools to wind up the din from 6 to 7.5 (bindings are Tyrolia Mojo 11's). I was skiing with the Din set lower than the recommended for my height and weight, primarily because my old 1080's had always been set at 6 and had been fine but obviously i needed to wind it up a bit with this ski/binding combo.

Unfortunately the window on the heel binding filled with snow as soon as i turned the adjuster and obscured it. So i left them as they were for the rest of the day, took them back to the hotel and adjusted them when the snow had melted and the bindings were fine for the rest of the holiday, releasing only when required.

The only problem is that i now have a smear of what looks like white grease on the inside of one of the windows that makes it very difficult to see the din adjustment indicator.

Is there any way to clean this? I obviously don't want to take the binding apart without knowing what i'm doing but would like to get the din indicator visible again so that i can check that it hasn't moved in normal use.

lower, The heel piece has to be removed from the ski so the cover can be removed to remove the window from the inside. I wouldn't bother as it's not going to move in use.
