Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Ski World Cup back on Channel 4 (+ boarding)

Channel 4 will once again outgun the BBC with its ski coverage this winter, and presenter Nick Fellows is looking forward to a vintage season:

“We can expect to see some great performances from the British contingent this season... Alain Baxter has been flying in training, whilst this is the season that I really expect to see Chemmy Alcott underline her huge potential and secure a race win.

“In World Cup Snowboard, 19-year-old Zoe Gillings is already leading the World Cup standings and is ranked the No 1 Women's Snowboard Cross rider in the World. With Lesley McKenna one of the favourites in the Women's Half-Pipe, we can expect to see more British success on the snow than perhaps we have ever previously achieved. It is certainly going to be a winter season to savour.”

Channel 4's coverage begins on Sunday 21 November. Konrad Bartelski and Martin Bell will also commentate. More details in this news item from Ifyouski.com.

To live the thrills of Skier-X, don’t miss the tv footage of the recent Saab Salomon Crossmax Series at Les 2 Alpes on Eurosport, tonight, Wednesday 24th at midnight UK time - Yoz Xtreme Sports… but there's no indication of how much of the programme it takes up.

Over on snowRacers there are details of the WC Cup Euorosport coverage:

Alpine
Snowboarding (but can't find the times as yet, dates only)

Thank god for devices that record TV is all I can say! Watched Monday night's Ch 4 programme yesterday and enjoyed seeing Bode Miller stomp all over his rivals. Nice commentary from Fellows and Bartelski, but I wish they were allowed to provide a bit more detail on the technical performance of some of the skiers. I had to watch Bode's runs in slow motion to try and work out why every other turn seemed to be cut as he flung his skis across the racing line - still not too sure why he was doing it, but it certainly seemd to work!

I watched the racing at 08.00 last Sunday (well recorded it), that was highlights, and then recorded 2 hours on Mon night. I was really chuffed that it was on and although the results were 3 weeks out of date it was still worth watching.

I say "good on ya Nick and Channel 4". snowHead
