First post guys so please be gentle,
Going with 30 other intrepid skiers over February half term to Tignes les Brevieres. The party in a mix of adults and kids with Black Run experts, 2nd and 3rd week veterans and a number of snow virgins.
Can anyone advise on a ski school for beginners and also one or two day refresher courses for people who've been before who think they're better than they are!
I've tried to book on line with ESF in Tignes Le Lac but the only private instructor courses available are for three hours x 6 days. This would be ok for the beginners but I'm looking for something more tailored. Have tried to email ESF Tignes Le Lac but no response since Monday evening. Has anybody got any suggestions to offer?
I understand there is a free drag lift at the bottom of Les Brevieres. Can people advise whether this would be a useful warm-up area on the Saturday afternoon when we get there. Any experiences, tales to tell?
Finally, have any of you found any excellent runs that we should try out??

old man, Welcome to snowheads. Can't help specifically with any of your questions per se (other than to say I love the Espace Killy) but no doubt some of the Tignes residents will be aong shortly - Stewart Woodward teaches in tignes, you may wish to enquire about his services

Evolution 2 (www.evolution2.com) are good - I can personally recommend their private lessons, & there were beginners in our chalet last year who went with their group lessons & were full of praise for them (apparently their maximum group size was eight, which seems pretty good, though whether this applies to busy periods such as half-term, I wouldn't know...).

There's a big wide gentle area at the bottom of the piste going into Brevieres (& I think I can remember the little drag going up the side...) so you should be fine there for a warm-up.

There will be people along soon with much more knowledge than me... But the reds (Chardons & Pavot) & the black (Sache) down to Brevieres are really nice - you'll be trying those out anyway, but they're worth the run even if you're not staying there And the Double M red down from the glacier into Val Claret is just lovely (& not too hard really, just quite a long way - if you've got people in your party looking to do their first red, this would be a good choice!). But there are too many good runs to mention them all individually...

Hi old man, and welcome to s. I suspect I know you, but if not I think I know some of your group. If it's the group I am thinking about has one of them just broken their leg horse-riding?

A broken ankle before we leave Hampshire goodness knows what's next. At least we have a couple of nurses, a fireman and an ex royal marine on the trip!

This is for a group lesson not private lessons. If you book private lessons the instructor will tailor the lessons to your requirements.

The drag lift is free, maybe ok for an hour or so to get your legs back.

Try Sache back to Brevieres its always bumpy and will test your technique/fitness
