Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Someone was asking earlier where to get a reasonable base layer. I have just been to M&S they have what looks like very reasonably priced thermals for £15 top £17 Leggings 32% merino wool 26% poly whatever 26% poly something else. Looks and feeks OK and a fair bit cheaper than the Helly stuff. I have just bought a set and will let anyone know who is interested after my 1st holiday.

I have some M&S thermals - they've lasted me a good couple of seasons and do the biz just fine Very Happy

(although looking at them they are 93% polyamide and 7% elastane lycra so are probably a bit different to yours)

They get my vote as well. They are very, very warm.Only worn the leggings once;had to take them off,too hot!!Skied the whole of last winter in a M&S top, thin fleece and jacket.Never got cold.Wife, who really feels the cold, did the same.No problems. They also do a kids range which are equally good value.Would advise you get another top or two. You'll only need the leggings if its really bitter!!!!

I use polarlites from Eider, they wick well and keep you as waqrm as toast under a polar200 fleece and an XCR shell.
I find any long john type thing works well under shell pants for me
