When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Restaurant with sledging in saalbach

We are going to saalbach on feb 23 and cant wait. I have heard there is a mountain restaurant where you can go at night were you get a skidoo on the way up have a meal and drinks then sledge down. Does anyone have the name for this place and also how to find and arrange a night out there? Also is it any good ?

Hi daveqr, I was is Saalbach last March and visited the restaurant you are talking about. It is called Spielberghaus, it is well worth trying. We had great laugh, food was good, and sledging back down is great fun. Go to spielberghaus.at. We are going again this March and will certainly be going again. Its probably worth booking a few days in advance as it was pretty busy . Enjoy. Smile

Daveqr, most of the ski schools hold a night like this during the week great craic but trying to steer a sled wiht your feet after a few Vinos does not end well snowHead Bring a torch Very Happy Alternativley if you grab a rep from one of the big travel corps they will let you in on theirs Shocked Anything for commision.

Saalbach is great make sure to visit the Goatstall (Hardcore Apres) its in Hinterglem a short cab ride but you can ski to it and get a cab back if you can ski the 200 yards to the road. The intersport Bauer on the main street is great for Rentals staff are great very knowledgable and helpfull. I would be classed as an expert skier and they meet my needs for the week including changing my skis every few days.

Bobbys bar is great craic especially the Karoke night think it is the Thursday dont remember to much of it due to an elongated stay in the goatstall.
