Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Mount Ashland ski area no water to flush loos

At the Mount Ashland ski area (US) there is not enough water to flush the toilets because of a water leak. The leak is somewhere beneath more than 2m of snow and about 1m of frozen soil. No one knows how soon the leak can be fixed. Without enough water to flush the toilets, the resort closed 2 hours earlier than normal on Saturday. So a non flushing toilet in a minor ski area (I may be corrected on this) merits a report of similar status to the closure of the Vanoise (Men with scarily large karibiners out on the cable today) or Bode Miller winning the overall Hannenkahm trophy? Mind you if this was my toilet I'd be fairly perturbed, but perhaps not to go posting it on a skiing forum!
