I'm going to Val Thorens at Easter with a mixed ability group, some of whom will need tuition at beginner/intermediate level, ski and board, adult and kids.
Anyone got any feedback on any of the ski schools there? Ideally, I'd like to find something similar to Courchevel's Supreme Ski.
The SCGB lists four schools: ESI http://www.esivalthorens.com/, ESF http://www.esf-valthorens.com/, Ski Cool http://www.ski-cool.com/ and Pros-Neige http://www.prosneige.fr/. Anyone know anything about these or about any others?

If you've used Supreme Ski, drop them an email or phone them and ask for a recommendation. That's what I did with a very good school I'd used in Val D when I was looking for a Courchevel ski school. Especially since you're talking VT - it's not exactly a million miles away, so they schools will probably all know each other.

No luck with Supreme: "Im not realy sure of anyone operating in VT to be honest. Courchevel or Meribel, I could recommend many as you know."
We'll have to guess on the basis of the website - will report back our experiences when we get back.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

I went to VT as an absolute beginner in January, and took 6 hours group lessons with ESF. It was a bit of a mixed experience for me - the first day, the instructor was a bit crap and none of us really got much from the lesson. For the second and third days, we were switched to a slightly smaller group (there were 7 of us, i think) with a different instructor, who was great - very personal and offered useful advice.
It definitely seemed as if ESF were the biggest school in the area (there were instructors in red suits everywhere), and most of the instructors seemed friendly and competant enough. It was enough to get me hooked, anyway!
