Do all resorts have to comply with a certain criteria for calculating snow depths?Or does a certain ammount of creative marketing apply
Just curious as to how and where they calculate the snow depths we all rely on,and is there a worldwide standard way of taking measurements as there is with temperature???
Surely there are lots of variables to take into account?

hedley, I think probably most of them are just sticking a pole in the ground but at the more hi-tech end, the ones in automatic weather stations use ultrasound sensors like this one ...
