Poster: A snowHead
|
Have the chance to go 19/1. Went to VT before Xmas and skied Meribel and Couchevel and loved it. Would I be ok in Avoriaz? The deal in Avoriaz is better, 4 Star rather than 3 in Mottaret and it is ski in/out. Having said that the most important factor is the skiing. (I'm a fairly competent Intermediate and would like lots of reds, a few blues to chill on and a challenge of the odd black)
Advice/comments please.
Thanks

Armitageblue, For the change .. Avoriaz .... assume it in includes PdS pass as you are ideally located to use it.

Thanks. I would get the area pass. I went to Morzine 20 years ago and skied Avoriaz but it's a bit of a blurr. I really liked the 3 valleys and there is more to be done there for me, another time maybe.

Armitageblue, Very 'different' places to stay of course ... but Avoriaz skiing is possible the best in the PdS , and well suited to your ability from what you say.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If its 4 star in Avoriaz it must be Hotel les Dromonts? Been there the last 2 years for their 4 day 'offpeak' break. Plenty of skiing for all abilities. Hotel if it is Dromonts if definately ski out, and its Ski, pole, ski in if you get my drift. Food is excellent. Wine list is not, way overpriced and obviously all French. A very good deal though.

Hotel des Dromonts has fantastic food, run by chef Christophe leRoy, the French equivalent of Gary Rhodes. Very nice food and not extortionate.
Have fun Armitageblue, .
