Snow Reports
FAQ
Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

For anyone living in Ireland, 53 Degrees North have a 50% off sale at the moment on all their ski boots. Not sure if the one in Blanchardstown has this sale on but the one in Carrickmines does. Got a pair of
Nordica
boots yesterday, reduced from €420 to €210!! Can't wait to use them.

wl
, Did you get them fitted?
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

I was thinking a pair of boots this season, but I had planned to wait until I get to the resort.
Did they have a good selection? How was the fitting?
I'd be interested to find out if it was worth my while getting them in Ire instead?

SMALLZOOKEEPER - I did get them fitted and "heat fitted" (
Hope that's the right term). The guy in the shop was really helpful - I have a narrow foot but big calf problem and the boots I bought seem to have overcome that. Having never bought boots before I can only pray he knew what he was doing! Jack E - I was hoping to buy boots this year in either Val d'Isere or Soll (sorry couldn't resist - too excited about having two trip!!) but the price was so good I couldn't say no to the ones here. I know you are probably better off buying boots where you can ski in them straight away and then have them adjusted if there are any problems but I reckoned the savings I will make on not having to hire boots is worth the risk. Anyway, hope I've made the right decision. I have tried them on about 20 times since I bought them yesterday and even brought them to work today to show people - I need help!
Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.
