It's not just the one piece that makes them hot. It's all the un-strapping and strapping up again that does it. No wonder they have to sit down in the middle of every place you wouldn't expect people to be sitting just to cool down again.

Seriously, how old is that picture? Bizarre bindings, semi-hard boots. Also, he's clearly on a rental board so taking the outfit into account he could very well be a skier on a taster day. Even if not, I'm thinking this photo was taken at least 15 years ago, bu I've seen skiers dressed like that within the last few weeks 
...and yes boarders are hot!
