When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Skier thrown from broken chairlift at Sunapee

A young skier was thrown from a chairlift and fell about 6m when the lift malfunctioned at Mount Sunapee ski resort (US). Officials reported that the North Peak Triple chairlift stopped suddenly yesterday and de-roped. The young male skier slide under the bar and fell. State police say the skier was taken to hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Other skiers on the lift were evacuated safely....From: http://www.reformer.com/region/ci_7827028

'Deroped' usually means that the wire came off the guide wheels (pullys)
