Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Recommendations for ESF instructors in Les Arc 1800?

Friends will be in Les Arcs (staying in 1800) over New Year. They are either beginners or 1st-weekers and would like to book private lessons. Anyone able to recommend a good ESF instructor they could ask for? Reasonable English, good teaching style and sense of humour would be required!

rob@rar.org.uk,

Why don't they try the ESI school Arc Aventures instead? My kids had a good time with them last January. Very friendly. Very Happy Arc Aventures

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

rob@rar.org.uk, I agree with Hywel, check out Fred Zoll if he's still there (and say I sent them. I used to work with him here. Very good (world class) skier & snowboarder, good english and lots of fun. Likes to bring people on. If he can't/won't do it then get him to recommend someone. PM me for his mobile number if you like. snowHead

easiski, thanks for the recommendation. Fred is no longer with Arc Adventures; he teachers with 4 others for a small new school called Priviledge (www.ecoledeskiprivilege.com). My friend booked private lessons for his daughter with Fred and seemed very happy with how things went.

My wife had an instructor from ESF called Bernard (we were there in 2002). She was a second time skier who was a bit nervous and he did her confidence no end of good! Bernhard was enthusiastic, encouraged nervous skiiers, was very very patient and loved the mountains, he yodelled, and worked as a forester in the summer.

However any school has not so good teachers, if you don't bond on the first day ask to change!
