Poster: A snowHead

I really suffer with cold hands when skiing, even when wearing liners under my gloves. I'm going back to La Thuile this time, where I know from past experience it can get really cold. Can somebody recommend the warmest gloves known to man?

Never suffered with cold hands, whether that is due to my gloves (Black Diamond) or my excellent circulation, I do not know....

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Mittens are warmer than gloves, sometimes cold hands are due to a cold head.

I would draw your attention to the glove technique discussion on the bend-the-kneez -section. It will tell you the esentials about the way you should wear the gloves (proudly).

ajpaul, I bought some ski mittens in M & S a few years ago that are fantastic. They are an outer thinsulate/gortex type fabric mitten and a normal fleece glove inside. I may look like a 3 yr old but I don't care cause my hands are really warm.

ajpaul,
If you don't want to look like a total dick in mittens, try the split fingered type... or get larger than normal gloves so you can bunch you hand up inside... when not actually holding you poles..
Your body heat will do a better job warming you up than insulated gloves.
Mountain Equipement do a good split finger glove. I also think leather is warmer than fabric but you need to look after them and not get them soaked too often. Also, always make sure you have dry gloves before wearing them.... so invest a bit more in them being waterproof...
