mfamily2, ..... Belle Plagne roughly means Beautiful Plagne ..... however I am biased about the area.
jonpim, ... who is also biased and has a love of Belle Plagne, matched only by the worlds facination with 'Resort X' ... may be along shortly to advise you .....

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Depends if you want to go out on the lash every night. Centre ( certainly not much charm) best for nightlife in my opinion, Belle Plagne good for all three but ful of kids and dutch, 1800 full of English and not amazingly quick access to the domain but still good. Only one bar though after Loup burned down - easy to get to central though, and im sure you'll find some chalet girls who know the quick way home!

mfamily2, you pose an interesting question.
Charm? Of all the La Plagne "villages" only Montchavin has any real charm.
Night life? Surely with 6 of you any bar will do, but if you want hard core late night partying then it has to be Le Saloon in Belle Plagne
Piste access? I suppose that would be Plagne Centre.
Which has the best combination? I'm with BernardC: go for Belle Plagne

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

If you are around Plagne Centre, try Le Soleil after skiing. Our mate is running it this year, supposed to have live bands on 4 nights per week. You can also get the bus back to Bellecote and the Gondola back to Belle Plagne.

Where do snowheads rate for good pre-apres-ski, drinking on the mountain bars? AKA - Meribel's 'Rond Point' (the pre-refit years...) Roll up at 4.30pm, drink till 8 then ski back to base in the dark for apres-ski.

Josef K, depends rather where you are staying.
For Belle Plagne we often stop at L'Arpette (I think that's what its called) just above the village on Les Dunes.
Be warned: it is often packed (just adds to the fun )
