Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Svindal injured after fall

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Looks like Svindal will miss the next few races after a bad fall in training. A few other skiers also had accidents but were not so badly injured.

Basically he's broken facial bones (nose & cheek) and also received a deep cut to his bum muscle (technical term). The report says he will miss all of the four races in colorado.

Andreas Buder must also take a three week rest after a fall.

Real shame as they were both on very good form. Sad

..... this report in English is giving slightly different details but both confirm facial damage and a serious cut to the lower body.

Svindal hospitalised after crash
Eurosport - Wed, 28 Nov 10:28:00 2007

Alpine skiing World Cup champion Aksel Lund Svindal crashed during the first downhill practice and was transported to hospital.

According to the Norway team doctor, Svindal suffered a deep gash in his left leg that required 13 stitches and lost several teeth in the crash that occurred coming off the final jump into the finish area on the Birds of Prey course.

The Norwegian all-rounder escaped the spill with no suspected broken bones but may not be fit to race in Beaver Creek which will stage a downhill, Super G, giant slalom and combined events starting on Thursday.

Svindal had been in superb early season form with two wins in four races, including a Super G victory at Lake Louise on Sunday.

He also won the season-opening giant slalom to easily go top of the overall standings 234 points ahead of Austria's Benjamin Raich in second on 166.
