Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

TR Les Courtes NNE Face

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
4.45 am on Saturday. While many Snowheads were doubtless up early to travel home from the EOSB, we were leaving the Argentiere hut heading for the NNE Face of Les Courtes, a classic ski descent of the Mont Blanc range...

Ross part way up the face as dawn breaks:

The face was in great condition with good chalky soft snow, but the top third was getting thin, with sections of front-pointing on the ice just under the soft stuff. First turns from the summit were cautious, with ice and rocks just underneath:

From 100m in it was perfect, good snow all the way, with just the odd ice smear to avoid.

Happy bunnies, done and dusted by 10 a.m.:

The face in all its glory:

There's just a hint of incongruence between the word "cautious" and the photo that follows it! Wink

Looks like an amazing descent.

Lots getting skied at the moment. Spencer couloir was skied on Sunday with reports of very good conditions. Col du Verte was apparently skied on Saturday despite looking very icey... South side of Droites also skied. Couturier on the Verte isn't far off being in, no reports on Whymper as of yet.

More bits and pieces of snow due this week, so it could all come very good.!!
