Apologies but I am new to this site so this may have been covered in a different forum.
I am organising with some friends to go skiing in France in early Jan and am looking to find cheap car rental from Grenoble Airport.
Does anyone know of any deals on car hire from there?
Your help is much appreciated.

sazzer, welcome to s
I used www.holidayautos.co.uk to book a Zafira from Grenoble Airport in November - I have used them several times now from various airports and been very happy. So far they have acted as agents for Europcar but the price you pay through them is much cheaper than booking directly with Europcar.
Are you going to LDA?

I often use these http://argusrentals.com/ Don't know if they're cheaper than Holidayautos but certainly cheaper than rack rate.

Sazzer - make sure one of your group (?) goes straight to whichever car rental company you go with - whilst others deal with baggage collection. The Grenoble car hire desks can be painfully slow. If you don`t get to the front of the queue you will spend (considerably) more time waiting to get the car than time spent flying to France.

jonty, I did notice a huge queue for the Avis desk (I think they have an arrangement with Ryanair) but there was nobody queueing for Europcar at all.

here endeth the lesson.
I see Jonty has been there too..it was probably him in front of me last time being soooooooo slow...
On our last trip there we had a rather unfortunate morning after Raclette 5 year old boy projectile vomiting problem.....so make sure you don't get a Ford s-max that smells of cheese

Nick L, which desk do you pick the car up from? Do HolidayAutos have their own?

Holiday Autos only act as a booking agent when you get your booking confirmation it tells you which car rental agency is actually providing the car and you go to their desk.

You know it makes sense.

kevinrhead, ahhh, I see. I figured they must use A.N.Other hire company, but didn't realise it could be any of them.
The prices certainly seem very keen. Think I'll have to book through them.
Thanks for the info all.

I have just booked with Holiday autos, Mondeo for one week for £160. Not bad me thinks. £40 each when split between 4 and no resort sorted yet. Could be a multi resort trip!!!! Although i do very much fancy a go at heli-skiing fromADH to LDA.
Oh and another thing, I just noticed on Holiday Autos confirmation sheet, they are part of lastminute.com!

northantsred, sounds a good deal, but beware you will probably be charged various extras, for example if you all want to be able to drive. But it remains a lot cheaper and more flexible than other forms of transfer.

pam w, that's right Nick L, two named drivers foc, snow chains to be paid for locally at 45 euros, unlimited mileage. We paid £200 last year at Salzburg for a Peugot 207 for 5 days.
