In Panorama, on Saturday, Denise Karbon (Italy) won the Women’s FIS World Cup Giant Slalom. It was her second victory already of this World Cup season. The tiny Italian, whose career has been beset by injuries. She also won the season-opener in Soelden (Austria), her first career victory....Top three times:

On Sunday, at Lake Louise, Aksel Lund Svindal (Norway) took the men's first Super-G race of the World Cup season. And, at Panorama, Marlies Schild (Austria) won her second women's slalom in a row. The victories catapulted both skiers to the top of the overall standings at this early stage of the season.
Svindal finished ahead of Benjamin Raich (Austria) with a time of 1:29.19 minutes. Didier Cuche (Switzerland) finished third.
Schild took the top position with a time 1:39.95 minutes, ahead of reigning world champion Sarka Zahrobska (Czech Republic). Ana Jelusic (Croatia) came in third.
