Apart from the generally exciting sensation that a new seaon pass brings, we were well impressed with the Compagnie du Mont Blanc this year. A total change of pace.
Last year there was much unhappiness at the promised Courmayeur access not materialising, the lack of discounts for GdP/Residentes and the general lack of information and chaos.
This year - discounts advertised in advance. Carte de Residence additional discounts. Courmayeur confirmed. Les Houches confirmed after much valley politics. Plus an additional discount for "couples".
Couples rate applies only to an annual pass.
So. Mont Blanc Unlimited normal rate, €1,320. Fully discounted rate as couple €510. Sounds like a 61% discount to me...
Bargain.
Oh and they had a little marquee with information and coffee to pre-queue so you knew what to buy.
The Intrawest influence perhaps?

€510 for a couple Must be said, that's a cracking deal. We'll be paying that each for PDS.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

rob@rar, Mr Stanton (good to hear from you), yeah, each I'm afraid.
Beats last year's €850 though. Remember however that this is annual and includes the Aiguille du Midi (normally €25 or so in its own right), the top part of the Grands Montets and Courmayeur.

Still very good - especially with the Courmayeur addition. (Which reminds me that we must get over there this season.)
Mr Stanton huh?

I should think so. What's the point of going through all the training and grief needed to become a ski instructor, if you have to pay for your lift pass? This thread has motivated me to get ours organised. Discounts (very small ones) for over 60s and a further 8%, on top of the massive early-purchase discount, offered to season pass holders because of the poor snow conditions last year, mean our Espace Diamant passes will be only 279 euros each. But they don't include the Aiguille du Midi!

skimottaret, check out whether you can get a discount with a carte de Residence or a carte de saison (if you have an employment contract)

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

skimottaret - resident discount deals have different requirements in different places. In Morzine your Taxe d'Habititation bill is enough to get you a discount.

PhillipStanton, he he. You planning to be out much this year?

You know it makes sense.

PhillipStanton, It's funny, CMB require a Carte de Residence (you need to produce your taxe foncier bill) or a Carte de Saison (you need to produce your work contract). In Les Houches the helpful girl at the mairie checks your document, takes your €3.30 and gives you your freshly laminated card.
In Chamonix the town hall have to have a meeting to "approve" your carte, charge €0.70 extra and it takes a week
