The World cup series begins on the Rettenbach glacier in Soelden, Austria this weekend with the women's Giant Slalom on Saturday and the men's GS on Sunday. However front page hogger, Bode Miller, may not race due to a recent back injury he picked up during training....As usual Miller is keeping the pundits guessing regarding his potential. He finished last season ranked fourth overall and famously ended his stormy relationship with the US ski team in order to train and engage in the circuit in a way that suited him better.
Now, although Miller's reputation as a 'social kind of guy' might get the cynics suggesting that this is just a cover to party more, he's got some of his rivals worried with a rumour that he's quit drinking.
However, this back injury is just the lastest in a string picked up over the Summer and he is believed to have skied only 5 days in the last 3 weeks.
He's due to ski tomorrow when a decission will be made whether to race on Sunday.
