Dont't go to geneva 4 les arcs - its a long/boring transfer.
Options
(1) hire a car and drive..
(2) check some of the 'trasnfer bus' services - see the link on here (ATS springs to mind)
(3) Train to BSM (not sure where from, poss change moutiers) and then go up the funicular, hope on the ski-bus round to 1800 - check this link for more suggestions options/info http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?t=2561
(4) or if you're chancer(s) and have some fitties with you then get them to chat up a rep at the airport and get on there bus... no doubt a couple of beverages could flow the reps way...

andybabes, TO transfer would be cheap and easy, if you arrive at the right time/on the right day. You could book this direct with pretty much any TO, or you could ring them, find out when their transfers go, and then wing it on arrival and blag a transfer with the reps on the day. (But the reps can get into trouble over this as it treads on the local service providers' toes, so don't be obvious about it.)

I do Geneva-Les Arcs about 10 times a season, normally the Annecy route. Typical times (non-Saturday transfers) is about 2 hours 50 minutes. The drive along the lake is quite inspiring, especially late in the season. It's a considerably nicer drive than Lyon or Chambery which are dull motorways almost all the way (although Chambery is a bit shorter). A big advantage of car hire at Geneva is that all the cars are fitted with winter tyres, reducing the likelihood that you'll need to fit chains.

If there's four of you I'd check out car hire prices (links on the airport website when you decide where to fly to) and compare that with private transfer shuttles.
You shouldn't need a car in 1800, so I'd guess it's down to price.
I've used Transfer Intelligence a few times, but our group is bigger.

I used Pascal @ taxis Aarthur for Chambery to Rob@Rar's partment in Les Arcs 1800. Few euros more than the car hire, but far less hassle

Taxi transfers in the Tarentaise - I've used them personally and can recommend it. Book via the above link for a discount
