You're in for a treat - today's gear is seriously high performance relative to the old kit apparently.

You'll probably find G3 Targas, Rottefella R8 Cobras and Black Diamond O2s are the most readily available bindings in Europe - telemark-pyrenees is a good mail order source or Braemar Mountain Sports in the UK.
Boots - well you basically have to decide whether you are a Scarpa, Garmont or Crispi fit then how high performance you want to go.
Parlor will be along at some point to tell you you're a poof for not wanting to put them on 130mm 190 cm long skis

As well as Braemar, I can thoroughly recommend BackcountryUK (formerly Basecamp Ilkley) who are extremely knowledgable & helpful (bought my 7tm's from them, plus Fritschi Freerides & Scarpa Denalis - all online). Call them on the phone & have a natter to Dave, or any of the team.
As fatbob says, there's loads of kit around - I'd personally go for the Kahru 7TM binding, which are fully releasable - some great 7TM info at The Unoffical 7TM Tips site, and check out the actual 7tm site itself.

Personally I don't see what you would put telemark bindings on a... pair of snowblades. Thanks fatbob.
Rob D, as the fat bloke says you're gonna love plastic boots and nice stiff cable bindings! I'm sure a B2 will be a great ski for the job.
It would be a real shame if you couldn't try your boots on before you buy them! Good luck.

The equipment is definately changing; the advice on cable bindings and stores are all good as above. You will notice greater torsional strength on all the new bindings, but the 'Bomber' bindings available in a few stores in the alps or on-line at pretty juicy and allow for various binding positions, plus you can have multi skis mounted with the plate and swap across... not for the weight concious touring junky though as they have been consuming a few steroids.
Garmont - tends to be a little wider than the Scarpa and Crispi. The garmont also features a slightly different toe box which I like, as less inclined to squish...

Rob D, I started telemarking about the same time as you (Tua Cirque, 3 pins and Garmont leathers)... things have moved on 
Telemarktips.com is a great tele website, Telemark-Pyrenees.com is good shop. Boots you will have to try on. I have Scarpas - I have narrow feet. I cannot tele in Crispis at all !
As for bindings you basically have a choice of to release (7TM, Voile) or not (everyone else). You also (still) have a choice of cable (remember the Riva ?) or pin. Cable toe pieces are much more burly than 14 years ago, to cope with the bigger, heavier, plastic boots.

FAQ
(Kids, work etc) I've spent the last 4 seasons (10 day trips) on these new fangled short wide ski etc and loved it but I really fancy converting back to real
