Snow Reports

Help!!
Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better!
Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

News is that if you have a CI rating you can attend a 1 day assessment and upgrade to BASI L1 which would allow teaching on all UK dry and indoor slopes. The assessment is £35 and you then need to join BASI.

Would this be of interest to any CI's out there?

, That has been available since L1 was launched. You need to join BASI first as an Associate member @ £45 before you book on the course. Plus do a child protection module before the L1 is awarded, although you will be insured. It's exactly the same course as the ASSI coversion apart from having an assessment element to it.
The BASI statement is misleading in that the standard is at ASSI level not below it. This has been done IMO to attract CI's who would otherwise think their skiing wasn't good enough.
Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Yes i agree but it may be an option for good experienced CI's who wish to get on the BASI ladder.
My thinking would be that for £35 it is good value for a day of refresher training even if you were not successful. Didnt appreciate you had to join BASI first, that could put people off if they werent initially at the required standard.
Have any CI's done the conversion at Hemel?

Not yet, just the full 5 day ones, but some are being planned.
Kitty did a conversion at MK, BASI advertised it as £35 on the website, but didn't mention the £45 Membership which is OK, but not that MK were going to charge £55 lift pass on top of that.
All courses at Hemel are inclusive of the Lift Pass, so a £35 course, costs £35.
