Poster: A snowHead

Anyone seen (or used) these? Brief details here:
http://www.colltex.com/en/index.html
They look like they might be q good for short trips and the fact that you can use them on different shaped skis could be useful. OTOH getting them on or off in a high wind could be a nightmare

Arno, .... trying to fold them in high winds might be a challenge worthy of The Apprentice ....
I have seen then used by one of our guides last season & their application was made to look very easy .... it would wouldn't it ..... !
He holds the record of competing in one of the French major ski endurance races, the Pierra Menta for 20 consecutive years.

BernardC, i wonder where he got them. the usual online suspects don't seem to have them.
i think that you are right - your guide's use of them is no indication of how normal klutz's like me will cope

They look sweet! I only have skins cut for my V-Pros (84mm underfoot). I also have 113mm underfoot Factions with tele bindings and plan to put tele bindings on my Prophets this could be the ideal solution. Nice spot Mr Arno. Perfect for side / slack country jaunts...

Like Doh! You buy a pair of 70mm straight skins, lay them on the ground. Put a long metal straight edge down the middle and cut with a sharp knife. People have been doing this for ages but they are not very practical as Bernard points out.

Arno, the hire shop we use for our punters has a large box full of old skins that don't fit any of the skis they still have.
