Am looking for catered chalet for 3 or 4 couples (2 of which have one child each) children will be 4 and 18months. Looking for 3-4 bed chalet (+ child bed + cot spaces) for sole use with full catering. Ideally would like in-house childcare for 18month and ski school pick up and afternoon care for 4 yr old.
Not too fussed about which resort. have enjoyed France in previous years but open to other recommendations/suggestions
Would also like to be close to resort centre and slopes as may have one non-skier in party
Thanks

I would recommend la tania. Many chalet companies there seem to specialise in family chalets with nannies who look after children either in the chalet or in a neighbnouring chalet. The two that I have gone with have been www.familyfriendly skiing.com and www.skimagic.co.uk-both very good.

Much as many of hate to admit it, Esprit as a TO do a great job of looking after kids.
Lower areas of Les Arcs/La Plagne are good.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Without the kids I would be very hard pushed to travel with a TO but with the kids I have to say Esprit do a great job and remove most if not all of the stress.
I have not been able to put together a trip independently witht the kids any cheaper either.

clareholyoak, you don't say when you want to ski, we have availabilioty for some weeks in Jan, early Feb and some March weeks. We don't have in-chalet child-care but there's a very good creche/nursery in the village who take children from 18mths -12 yrs they arrange ski-school where applicable and really do a good job. You can find the details on our website.tracksvacations.com and click through to the La Rosiere tourist office website. We've had lots of guests use the child-care facilities here and we've heard nothing but praise.

I've used Ski Beat a few times in La Tania - creche was in ground floor of one of the chalets and as are all close by easy to drop off collect.
WOuld recommend them and IIRC cheaper than many other companies.
Last few years have used the Creche in Vallandry (Tom Pouce) as an alternative - English widely spoken by the staff

I wouldn't recommend Crystal's Hotel Diva in Tignes, the child care is cheaper than most and ok if your kids can ski all day, but my then 4 year old hated the child care facility as she didn't speak french and most of the kids did, the rest spoke spanish.
Hotel itself is fine I hasten to add, and once both kids can ski a full day I would go back, as then all hotel has to do is ferry them to and fro (ESF provde lunch).

I would go for ski esprit they look after the little darlings all day.....

Too much pimping on this thread ....and very unfair to clareholyoak, . Doesn't say much for 'pros'/'pimps' when all they do is chase newbies who have no idea about what is good or bad ......... thinking about it , reflects BADLY on your offering if you need to market to those who know no better ... just mho ....
BTW - Clare , I have no connexion with ski famille .. just had a good time with their dedicated in-chalet nannies ..

And I hasten to add I am just a satisfied customer of Ski Beat - met our requirements when we went with a group with babies.
Now the kids are older its a complete DIY operation for us

If you consider the Portes du Soleil, then Jack Frosts childcare can help.
Their nannies come to your chalet and look after the kids of all ages. Can do ski school pickups too.
They operate in Morzine, Les Gets, Chatel and Champery. Been using them for our clients in Morzine for 6 years and they are very professional.

we've used skibeat for 10 years with the full range of kids and have always been very good. Top tip is to make sure you choose the chalet that includes the creche as it saves a great deal of faffing around with kit. Now the older little ones are skiing we have moved onto snowbizz at Puy ST Vincent wwhich has a fantastic set up for kids to learn (as I have said on numerous occaisions now). It is however a small mountain for adults who are intermediate skiers.

Hi
I stayed in Les Arcs with skiadventures last year and would highly recommend them. Previous thread is here: http://snowheads.com/ski-forum/viewtopic.php?p=552625&highlight=#552625
Sounds like it could be exactly what you are after. We took someone to look after our toddler, but the small children looked after by the inhouse nannies looked to be very happy and were doing lots of nice things.

La Clusaz, France is a fab family friendly resort. It has a good beginners ski area for the kids on Beuregard, plus a good kids club in town for the under 4's which also provides an hours skiing a day in the ski nursery area.
Ther is plenty on offer for non-skiers too.
It's only an hour from Geneva, so a quick and easy transfer for the kids to cope with.
There are two UK run chalets in La Clusaz who offer child care and afternoon pick ups for the older kids - www.gravite.co.uk or www.snowlife.co.uk
