Poster: A snowHead

Rather than book my ski hire this year through the tour operator, I think I would like to risk turning up and hiring skis myself.
Can anyone reccommend any particular hire shop in Sauze d'Oulx?

Hi
the main ski hire is easy to get from the main lift up from Sauze - just get there early. Kit looked decent enough - the skis were nice and shiney and pretty colours !!
I have used www.snowrental.net over the web - used them a couple of times for skis & snowboards for various resorts around Europe, very good service and kit is ready for you + you have the choice and can order more advanced or special skis. But the quoted discount i think is rubbish. It's a tad cheaper than going directly in the resort. Have a search on the forum for them and you'll find quite a bit of positive feedback from what i remember??
When are you going to Sauze, we are there over New Year?

Thanks Dan, I'm off in the beginning of March. It's my first time there but It's my annual trip with a group of about 40 ski friends!
I'm starting to get excited now all the summer holidays have been done

There are a couple of excellent hire shops in sauze the one i'd recomend is at the bottom of the run down into the village can think of the name of it but it reminds you of a log cabbin and its right across the road from the end of the run

bootneck, i know the one, next to the scotish whiskey pub/bar/hotel. Very friendly old lady in there, infact i think i bought my arnette (sp??) sunnies in there.
They had loads of stuff in there and all looked very well maintained, also because it's slightly off the beaten track........i.e. not on the doorstep and also up the hill, it is a well keep secret.

I'll have a look for that one... The group I'm going with have been before, but they all have their own skies so don't really know where's good.

The shop at the bottom of the slope is called Eydallin Sport. I bought my skis from there a couple of years ago.
Another good place for hiring is right at the bottom of the Clotes chairlift (cant remember the name, sorry).
I am out in Sauze/Montgenevres for the season, eight weeks to go

I agree with Linds - either the place next to the New Scotch Bar (opposite the bottom of the Clotes run) or the hire shop right next to the Clotes lift.
Have a great time Paul - I'm a Sauze fan, although I haven't been for a couple of years - if the conditions are good you'll enjoy it.

Hi you might want to try Three Sixty which is close to the clotes ski lift. Run by Nicolas and Lorenzo they are fantastic and will tell you the best places to ski to avoid the crowds. Also they are happy to store you things etc for free and wax the skis everyday if you need it. Hope this helps. PK

Best place I have found in Sauze for ski hire and service is the place right at the bottom of the Clotes lift. Like everyone else, I can't remember the name of the place but it is run by Paulo Chalp and he is always very helpful (and very reasonably priced)
