Poster: A snowHead
|
I was going to book in France the week of the 09-03-08 which should be one of the quieter weeks ( all french back at school) be it is really a bit late for me to get away from work. Then started thinking about going to Austria for a change and going a week or 2 earlier. How busy will it be? I do not know German or Austrian holiday dates.
Thanks

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Hi Farmboy, I live in Austria - in the Ski Amade region, there are loads of quiet slopes over here. Places like Flachau/Schladming are the busiest as they attract the tour companies. The lift pass covers a huge area so you could ski a different place each day.
hope that helps

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

We're going to France the week that you originally had in mind and it's worked out v. reasonable. As you say, it should also be fairly quiet as French brats will be back at school.

Farmboy, we went to Austria 23rd Feb last year, and there were no probs with crowds. It's after the English half terms, but don't know about Austrian/German/Dutch Hols, try a google search. We are going again this year on 23rd, as the prices always drop for flights at this time, the snow is still good (in fact they often have their biggest dumps at this time) yet it's nice to sit out in the sun for lunch!
