You need to make sure that you stick both poles in solidly either side of the skis, ahead of you, then use them as supports, this gives you more "airtime".
After that it's just loads of practice.
But that is quite easy, more impressive if you can manage it by taking a run up to it.

I often ski on a pair of skis that are not much more than that at the tails (98 69 8 - my touring skis used for offpiste in scotland and some inbounds telemarking upto last year.

Was going to replace them with a pair of Volkl Karma last year but never got round to it. Mayb e now the Karma has been replaced by the Bridge I'll be able to get a pair for a decent price, gonna take a look now, you've stirred me into action.
