Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

New Easyjet route: Stanstead-Grenoble

Not sure if this is new news, but I got an email from Easyjet confirming they are operating Stanstead to Grenoble from 5 January. Useful for those heading to the Southern French Alps?

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

The location of the Grenoble airport (some 30 miles NW of the city) means most of the northern Alps resorts are just as easy to get to from Lyon, funnily enough. Not much help for the south of France, it's a long drive across to Briancon, so it only really brings the likes of Serre Che/ Alpe d'Huez/ Deux Alpes/Montgenèvre within slightly easier reach. Good to see another route opening up though.

Still easiest to access most of the southern French Alps from Marseille (quiet motorway via Aix as far as Gap) and Nice...

Useful for those of us heading to Stanstead for some English beer. Grenoble is a nice airport. Cheaper car hire than Lyon and you can usually hitch a ride on tour busses if you want to get to resorts. Otherwise it is a 2 bus affair via Grenoble - don't get into town too late.

BTW Pete, relatively it is very close to the Chartreuse and Vercors resorts... but you probably don't want to let on about those Happy

Actually Easyjet stopped the Stanstead-Grenoble daily service when they bought Buzz - Ya boo sucks to Easyjet. Glad to see they've seen the light. Grenoble airport is wonderful for our neck of the woods - at least an hour less on the road, no long customs etc. off the plane and onto the bus/car whatever. Sweet little place, much like Chambery but more grown up.
BTW in ski season regular buses go direct from Lyon to A d'H and LDA - Satobus. You'd need to check times though as they're not that common, but certainly on Saturday. Little Angel
