Poster: A snowHead
|
Anyone got one? Looking at getting one but am unsure about just how it good is.
I currently ride a 166 Merrier Keano. It's well stiff and brilliant for speeding downhill but I find it too long for places like Xscape and for doing ramps and rails. Looking at getting a 157 wide GNU Carbon High Beam, just because it's shorter and will be better for razzing around MK and on tight runs.
I'm 6' 4" and 13.5st so techniclaly the 166 should suit me, but I just want something that's easier to throw around.
One of my mates has TWO GNU CHB boards (I should take his word for it really!!) and he reckons it's the dog's nuts - any comments?

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Your mate is spot on. Gnu CHB's have a great reputation within the snowboarding community. The are owned by Mervin who also own Lib Tech. One of the most technological advanced manufacturers these days. There are considered to be one of the best value for money boards out there.
You will have no problems with one I would think.

Fico, cool. Really like the look of them and judging by all the reviews I've seen on the net, they are supposed to be a great all-round board...
... I like the fact that it's a brand that's not as commercial like Burton!!

fatbob, is this a bad thing? I thought Lib Tech owned them?

Not saying its a bad thing but its not just some cute little quirky brand - Quiksilver are one of the biggest players in the "lifestyle" business owning Mervin, Rossignol, Dynastar etc as well as the more obvious stuff. FWIW Mervin have always had a fairly innovative reputation and deep roots in the industry.
