rob@rar, Weird .. Looks like a certain Ecclestone is advising the Italians on how to extract money from 'potential' venues in terms of value to the community etc .. mind you he's pretty good at it !

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Agenterre, that thought had crossed my mind! It would be good for me, as I could pop over the border from La Ros to see the race if I'm out there at the time, but I don't think that the FIS will allow the venue to be switched quite so easily

1 excellent Ecclestone tactic used in F1 to great effect is the sometimes odd naming of events. When the San Luxembourg GP is in Germany and the Swiss GP in France I don't see why having the Bormio downhill in la Thuile should worry anyone too much, at least it's the same country.

FenlandSkier, Holding Luxembourg and Swiss GPs was to allow more than one race to be held in Germany and France.
There isn't a limit on how many World Cup races can be held in any one country.

How can they hold a world cup in La Thuile..... I thought there was no decent skiing in the Espace San Bernado

Race pistes in La Thuile are here. There are only SL and GS areas in La Rosiere.

It seems that FISI (Italian Ski Federation) demands 500,000 Euros from any Italian resort who wants to host a WC race in the future. Bormio and Alta-Badia do not want to pay this sum.
