Yes he is still in Maiden, presents TV programmes, and I suspect keeps his fencing going too. His TV series "flying heavy metal" was excellent. I think he flies (co-pilot - not Captain) on 757s.

Sean Newsom, flyglobespan ran scheduled London Stansted to Chambéry last year although they seem to have dropped it. They've also cut their Edinburgh Chambéry service to weekends only.

One of my colleagues has flown with the Iron Maiden fan club out to Iceland, with Bruce in the cockpit. She spoke highly of the experience so there you go!

I've actually been flown by him, on an Astraeus flight. The pilot came over the tannoy and annouced the crew names in a very matter-of-fact way. No drum roll, guitar lick or anything! It was a bit of an anti-climax actually. No "Aces High" incidents (for those who know their Maiden lyrics).

He clearly didn't make much money out of Iron Maiden if he is having to work as a pilot.

You have my permission, but any profit you make from selling it needs to be split with me...
i.e. go for it, but don't forget to point out where/who you got it from.

This isn't exactly cutting-edge news. Astraeus have been doing charters into Chambery for (amongst others) Skiworld, SkiVal, TUI for some time. My mate arrived on a plane piloted by Bruce the season before last - made her day.

Lizzard, the cutting-edge news is that they're doing it as a scheduled service now, not just a charter flight.
