A new alpine FIS training center is to open in Sella Nevea, Italy. The course, has been designed to be particularly suitable for speed discipline training and can be used by
all international ski organizations....
Plans have been around for 3 yrs to create a non-commercial center for training in Downhill and Super G. Nations like Germany and the UK, though enthusiastic to compete in these fields, have had very limited access to the resources required to train properly. Now they can train ski racers in the Sella Nevea for an all-inclusive price of 85 euro per day.
The course is served by an adjacent lift and has snowmaking facilities along the complete length of the run.
The centre includes safety installations, Videoanalasis Tools, a Fitness facility and timing equipment. The FIS wants to provide better training conditions for many nations whilst promoting the charms of the Sella Nevea region.
The facilty was financed by the local regional government.
