Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Its a transport question - Val D'Isere to Geneva by bus

 Poster: A snowHead

Hi All,

Right - well I'd love some advice please.

In a dilemma as to booking my flights at the moment - the return journey is the real issue. Scenario is that I can get a plane from Geneva to Southampton (v handy as I live in Southampton). It leaves Geneva at 11.45 on Sunday 2 Jan.

Per the bus schedule, the first bus to leave the resort is 6am, getting to Geneva at 10.10.

The question is - is this leaving it all a bit fine on the timings? As I'm going to have to pay a fair wack for the flight as it is, I'd rather not miss it and have to shell out more for another.....

Any thoughts?!

Catriona, when are you travelling? If it's a Saturday then it's difficult for the coaches to keep to their schedules. If there's bad weather it's also difficult to maintain times. We can get to Geneva from La Rosiere in under 2 1/2 hrs on a good day but we transfer on a Sunday and if there's bad weather it can take over 3 1/2 - 4 hrs, we also don't stop in Moutiers, Albertville etc. You might be better off leaving the evening before and staying in a hotel near Geneva airport.

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

Check how long you need to be at Geneva before the departure time, last season FlyBe was 1 hour, but it could be close if bad weather hits the roads, double check on insurance cover
