Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

French Alps to Calais - stop recommendations

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
At this time of the season a frequently asked question in the bars is 'when are you leaving?' Sad

So as thoughts turn towards the journey home - in 5 or 6 weeks yet Very Happy - I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a stop on the journey north to Calais Puzzled

Mrs W, depends what you're looking for but these days I prefer to avoid the boring Reims route and go east up through Luxembourg and across Belgium. Adds about 100km to the trip but seems to be much cheaper on tolls. Stop in the Ardennes and on to Calais in the morning.

Must be horrible to have that hanging over you in just a few weeks' time Sad - or do you look forward to the change, knowing you'll be back again for the winter? snowHead

I agree. An overnight stop is not necessary.

I was thinking more in terms of a lunch stop recommendation, if anyone has done this Puzzled

There's lots of activities in the summer. Stewart's in heaven - skiing in the mornings and golfing in the afternoons Very Happy
Some of the lifts work to give easier access for walking and mountain biking. There are mountain bike trails, which they grade like ski runs - blue, red & black.
Not to mention the wine festival in August - lots of tasting & buying wink Madeye-Smiley

Edit: oops sorry didn't realise Stewart was still logged on to the laptop rolling eyes Shocked

Lunch for us tends to be the 'delicious' motorway service station irradiated sandwiches so probably not much help - sorry snowHead
