Poster: A snowHead
|
This runs off the back of the Cime de Caron down to the Orelle area. Just planning some itinaries for Easter and wondered how hard it is. I know some stuff up off the top is quite tricky.

The black Combe Rosael off the back of Cime Caron is steep ish and can be icy at times.

Frosty the Snowman, top run one of my favs in 3V! First bit is a track followed by a bit of traverse which can be a bit polished, then it steepens up before joining the red down, the steep bit of the red is still below you and IMHO is probably steeper than most of the black. One advantage of the black is that it's always a lot quieter, nothing really tricky otherwise I wouldn't be able to do it! You also get a splendid feeling of isolation as it's ages before you see any sign of human impact on the world other than the piste markers.
FTS I keep hearing you say that your'e not really a black run skiier are you moving up in the world?

Frosty the Snowman, I can't quite believe you are getting away with two trips to the 3V inside a month!
Sounds like one I could do in April...

stevew, I can am happy to ski most pistes but the harder blacks need decent conditions. Steep moguls and ice dont suit me. Better on ice than I used to be, but 125kg butt naked is still a lot of weight for the edge to hold My left knee has no further scope for damage and any further injury would be the end so I tend to ski within my limits. As I improve the limits are increasing.
TallTone, Sshhhhhhhh
