Poster: A snowHead

Hi all,
Doing a last minute get away to Morzine/Avoriaz, just a bit worried about the snow conditions(the lack of). seen that the highest lift in Morzine is roughly 2500m & Avoriaz 2300m.
I could head over for the last week of March(work pending) or should i risk it and do the second week of april, when the lift pass is cheaper.
Any feedback, greatly appreciated.

harryh06, Welcome to Snowheads. See this thread for current conditions in PDS.
Avoriaze is the best place to go if snow is bad as it is higher, the slopes around Morzine are lower. There is possibility of some snow this week, which is much needed. I think you may be better going in March but who knows what the weather will do.

I wouldn't say "much needed", everything but the lowest parts of Avoriaz is fine - the predicted snow between Sun-Weds will help but isn't really in dire need, imo.
You'll probs be fine whenever you decide to come out, but probably the earlier the better.

toiletduckuk, I should have added for the lower slopes around Morzine/Les Gets (he did mention Morzine in his post) which aren't looking too good at the moment. I'll be in Morzine next week so hope there will be some more snow, been there the last two years at the same time and it has always snowed heavily.
By the way, how are the links from Morzine to Avoriaz - can it be accessed via the Super Morzine or is a bus journey needed.
Thanks

Snow forecast for much of next week. Am going on Wednesday and have just changed flight home from Friday to Saturday - yippee. Looks like all the Swiss / French links are open today. Not sure about Avoriaz to Morzine though.

Super Morzine + ProClou are open, you can get into Avoriaz fine that way - the run home is on its last legs, with Zore shut and definately unskiable - Tetras is struggling with the freezing level not seeming to reach it, some very brown slushy patches.
The coming snow will fix all that, though

As toiletduckuk says, Tetras is on its last legs. But they do go to a huge effort to keep the Super Morzine link open and they'll start downloading via the Zore chairlift.
The snow forecast is looking very, very good for next week.
