After Lindsey Kildow’s (US) announcement on Thursday that she was withdrawing from the rest of the season because of a knee injury, it meant that Renate Goetschl (Austria) clinched the World Cup super-G title with two races left. This is the third super-G championship she has won. She has an insurmountable 213-point lead on teammate Nicole Hosp, who is now in the running for 2nd place.
...Goetschl has 440 points, Kildow had 310 and Hosp followed with 227. Wins are worth 100 points each. Goetschl has won four downhill crowns and took the overall title in 2000. She won three of the five super-G's this season, and finished second and third in the other two. She also leads the downhill and overall standings.
