With 103 days left in its winter season (due to end on June 3), Whistler Blackcomb has surpassed its average annual snowfall before the end of February. As of February 20, the resort had received 1026 centimetres or 404 inches of snowfall this year, with the annual average sitting at 1,006 centimetres or 396 inches....<br>The current weather system that tipped Whistler above the average has delivered 11 centimetres of snow in the past 24 hours and 48 centimetres over the past seven days. The storm is expected to continue through Saturday bringing another 22 to 35 centimetres or 12 to 14 inches to the winter wonderland resort.

It has been an endless Winter in Whistler this year.
However, there has been, at times, a not insignificant amount of rain down at village-level.

Chris Brookes - I have a mate in Australia who works on that concept - if your luck is anything like his you'll be standing in mud at Whistler next season whilst there are record snow falls in the Europe!!!
My mate has an appalling record:
Everytime I have been to the snow with him it has either rained OR been such poor conditions that it wasn't even worth getting to the slopes. The one time it did snow the wind picked up seriously and all lifts were closed for most of the day!
He went on a windsurfing holiday to Hawaii - to have the whole 2 weeks out with storms/hurricanes/cyclone conditions.
Last kite surfing trip he did there was only enough wind to get the sail up for one day out of ten!!
Its all luck baby! all luck!

And love to help out and answer questions and of course, read each other's snow reports.

We do not have a good recird of skiing in Canada, Banff had it's worst winter (or best of you hate snow) for years, and Whistler had torrential rain washing the snow away. We don't have quite such poor luck in Europe though, and at least it's a shorter journey.
