sequoiaboard, at that time of year you're taking a gamble.

sequoiaboard, I was there (in Font Romeu) this year, and it was exceptionally bad. However, I have also been at either Christmas or New Year for the last four years and the snow has been absolutely superb; we have never had any complaints about conditions. I'm not sure that the Pyrenees is any more of a gamble at that time of year than anywhere else. What you do need to be aware of, though, is that the resorts are generally small and can therefore get very busy at that time of year.
There are a couple of locals who post here who may be able to be more clear on the snow levels. You don't say which resort the apartment is in?

sequoiaboard, how about Easter? It's quite early next year, and generally snow levels will be better around 23 March than around 25 December. Also, Easter doesn't seem such a busy time for many resorts as Christmas/New Year. But obviously it's a gamble, whenever you go. If you rent an apartment on a DIY basis they are not expensive outside the main school holidays in many resorts - not a major element of a ski holiday, really. If the apartment you can borrow is not free at Easter it might be worth going somewhere with more snowsure skiing and renting an apartment.

You're probably too young to remember the TV programme "What's My Line". I wonder what Lady Barnett would have made of that?

sequoiaboard, what's a chainsaw sculptor? Do you sculpt using a chainsaw.
I suppose it's always a gamble early season even in places that get alot of snow like St Anton, looking at snow records give you an idea but the weather men have trouble with three day forecasts so forget more than 10 months away.
