Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

On the metcheck.com web site (for Wengen) it forecasts rain for much of the next week, but with the freezing level below that of the main slopes. Does this mean that rain is expected in the resort, but that above the freezing level it will fall as snow. Puzzled ~/ Puzzled Forgive me if this is a stupid question but I don't know whether to be cheerful or dpressed as we go out to Wengen soon: AND I DO NOT WANT RAIN wink

Frosty the Snowman, It certainly does. The temps in the alps seem to be jumping all over the place (metaphorically speaking) And vary so much from day to day. A strange season Confused

Brian T, FL shouldn't be as high as that for Wengen. Meteo Suisse puts the rain/snow line at 1800m lowering towards 1000m into Tuesday.

Frosty the Snowman, it's a cold front moving through on Monday so will snow to progressively lower levels. Should get snow down to below village for La Ros by Monday night.

Looks like plenty of snow everywhere through next week although there'll most probably be rain at times below about 1500m (Austria), 1800m (Switz/N France), 2000m (S France).

Well, the 6 day forecast (snow-forecast.com)doesn't show much snow coming to the Jungfrau region next week but instead they are saying rain on monday with a bit of snow afterwards Sad Sad

but they don't have a clue how much rain or snow will fall, really and the quantities indicated are often so wide of the mark that they'd be better off leaving them out. We had far more snow Weds - Sat in the Beaufortain than was forecast, as usual. Overall most sites seem to envisage a fair bit of precipitation throughout the week, with freezing levels dropping. Not bad at all.

Brian T, if netweather was correct i will be one happy Jersey bean ...they have been wrong alot in the past so i dont look at the site anymore

Brian T, visit the other thread 'Jungfrau Region' and ask 'Stab' or 'Ronald' who live there for an update to the weather. We will be in the region the same time so im really hoping the conditions improve ASAP
