The good people of Liverpool are not to have a snowdome, at least not the one planned for Southport Waterfront.
The attraction, which was planned to include a casino and go-karting track next to the seafront Ocean Plaza leisure complex, was first proposed by private care home owner Russel Oakden three years ago.
But local politicians and planners have pulled the plug on the scheme, reckoning that it would be too high a building. This report from icLiverpool says:

Now, no jovial comments about Liverpool or nursing homes, please.

Thought you might like to know that the correct term for those of us from Southport is certainly not Liverpudlians, but is 'Sandgrounders' !
