have now decided on zermatt in may, as there will hopefully be snow.
Can anyone tell me what the boarding is like?

there is always snow in zermatt, it's open all year up on the glacier. I love it up there.

how's zermatt for boarding? It has a reputation for posh skiers and that worries me!

snowbunnie, don't believe all you read. The place can be as wild as anywhere in the alps. Check out the Papperla of a night, and then the Schneewitchen club underneath

Just got back from Cervinia yesterday, conditions were fantastic, had hard packed piste and blue skies for the first 3 days, then snow for the next 2 days and clear blue sky and a bit of powder for the last day, couldn't have asked for any more considering the conditions elsewhere. We had one day where they closed all lifts except the 6 seater from town because of wind.
Didn't get over to Zermatt myself as was looking after my girlfriend who hadn't been on the piste before but heard conditions were excellent there as well.

Dovver - I have the same problem as you. I'm going there on my honeymoon in May and the man has never been boarding before. Might have to chuck him in the snowdome or something for a day before we go!
I can't wait now.

I'm in Zermatt now. Pretty good conditions really. The runs are in good shape as it has been nice and cold/
