Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

Dakine High Octane rub on fluoro wax.....

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
Does anybody use this for when they're away? I've bought some to take with me just to rub on the skis in the evening before I head out on the pis* or maybe in the morning before I head out for the piste. I've done plenty of hot waxing and scraping and buffing to get the skis in good order before going. Just wondering really if this Dakine stuff is any good for keeping the skis going through the week.

I like other Dakine stuff - like gloves and Helipack and luggage - but dunno what they know about wax. But I did like the price compared with some of the expensive alternatives. And it smells nice. Just got to make sure I don't inadvertantly rub it under my armpits!

Mmm, I thought about Zardoz but they don't stock it in the shop I went to. I'm wondering - it's that Teflon liquid stuff init? How easy is it to hotwax after using it? Does it get in the pores and stop wax sticking? Does it smell nice?

Im sure more people will confirm as i havnt used mine yet but it is as you say 100% liquid teflon. It says on the container that It does not cause any side effects to any current or future waxing. Do a search and you will find some good reports on notwax on these forums.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

Another vote for Zardoz Notwax here. I'm not familiar with Dakine High Octane, but I know most of those fluoro rub-ons only last for 1 or 2 runs i.e for racers. Zardoz lasts for 1-2 days and doesn't mess up your hot-waxing. I was recommended it by Spyderjon (resident ski prep guru) as a top up. It also has the neat side effect of rust-proofing edges overnight and in transit.
