Poster: A snowHead

Hi,
At last the deal between the preferred bidder and the Receiver has gone through.

Have to wait and see what they are going to do to improve the situation there, though repairs to the snow fencing would be a good start and some imaginative ideas on getting punters to Coire Fion when the links are broken might help aswell.
Cheers
Dave

Obviously A snowHead isn't a real person

Yes, very good that there are people with the guts and optimism to keep the show on the road.
Let's hope there's snow on the road!

Well, the person's real but it's just a made up name, see?

David Goldsmith, It would be nice if it was on the mountain as well

May be we could have a snowhead meeting there next season. All we need is someone alerting us the true snow condition as I didn't find the Glenshee web site particularly helpful. One has to read between the lines and cross check it with the number of chairlifts opened to get to the true snow condition.

Anyway, snowHeads is much more fun if you do.

There was a Glencoe meet floated a while ago. That'd be a better idea than a Glenshee meet, unless we have a decent winter. The trouble with Glenshee is that it relies on surface lifts, so even when the snow is good at the top you can't get to it if the bottom tracks are broken. I dunno how much a second hand chairlift would be to buy and install but that'll surely be one of the first things the new owners will be looking at.
Of course if we do get a good winter (crosses fingers) you've got a lot more terrain to choose from at Glenshee than anywhere else.

More on Glenshee from The Scotsman. Don't hold your breath on major improvements

"We won't be doing any fancy developments or whatever this year. There will be a few minor improvements to the ski area, but the main thing is that it will be business as usual this winter." |
