I am looking for web sites where I can get last minute Friday and Saturday night stays in hotels, apt's or hostels. Last season I spent countless hours trying ,in vain, to find accommodation at the last minute.
The reason I require last minute booking is that I have to visit Annecy and Grenoble for work purposes and never know more than a week or two in advance when I will be travelling.

PG, That's great news provided the price is right and I'm lucky enough to find it vacant when I travel. I will certainly be in touch nearer the time.
Out of curiosity what is the best route on a Friday night from Annecy. Would it be via Albertville and Moutier or via Ugine and Beaufort? I know the Moutier route can be a bitch on a Saturday morning.

Boardski, we have a chalet in La Rosiere and we never use the Ugine/Belfort route when we pick up clients in Geneva. The road just isn't good enough mind you we transfer on Sunday to avoid the worst of the N90. Friday night shouldn't be a problem it's on Saturday that the problems occour.

I remember sitting next to him on a flight about fours years ago. Seemed like a really nice guy! I always thought of going up there but I am not sure how kids are accepted in such a place.
Boardski, I have a contact in Les Contamines if you wish to stay closer to Geneva. She manages several apartments there and let's me take any vacant place at a daily rate. (Usually around 50 Euros a night for a studio)
