Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

News from Saalbach

 Poster: A snowHead
Poster: A snowHead
A friend of mine is currently in saalbach and says that although conditions are not great there is still plenty of skiing to be had. Combine this with the forecasted snow on Friday, and some further snow showers over the next two weeks I am now less concerned about my own trip on the 23rd Jan.

If that hasn't cheered any pending Saalbach visitors then I hear the nightlife is particularly awesome! Smile

Anyone here know how far the bottom of Schattberg-Nord is from the town centre, as our hotel (Hotel Interstar) is located at the bottom of it?

just been there for a week. skiing even when it hadnt snowed was do-able with the machines. awesome skiing after the snow.

apres is PHENOMENAL! bauers for apres and castellos/underbar in the evening if you wanna meet hot scandinavians, bobbys for a more english/reppy crowd. cant reccommend any more chilled out places unfortunately.

go there!

also hotel jaegerwirt - top marks! worth the 15 minute walk out of town of an evening if you stay there.

It certainly sounds like we will have a good time regardless of the weather!

Got any photos I can add to my website www.ski-finder.co.uk?

which i appreciate is far from AMAZING but should at least perk the slopes a little... snowHead

You might like to have a look at a couple of photos from Saalbach (well Hinterglemm actually) I took at the end of December 2006.

First the bad news! Some of the sunny side looks like this:

But just to the left is this

well-covered (admittedly with cannon snow) slope which was a pleasure to ski. At this time the resort had about 30cm snow in total and yet there was very little not open. Marvellous pisteur work. I promise you will have a great time!

There has been 15cm in Kaprun today. Only 5cm was forcast. So hopefully the rest of the area may be getting a dump
