Mail for help.Help!!

Log in to snowHeads to make it MUCH better! Registration's totally free, of course, and makes snowHeads easier to use and to understand, gives better searching, filtering etc. as well as access to 'members only' forums, discounts and deals that U don't even know exist as a 'guest' user. (btw. 50,000+ snowHeads already know all this, making snowHeads the biggest, most active community of snow-heads in the UK, so you'll be in good company)..... When you register, you get our free weekly(-ish) snow report by email. It's rather good and not made up by tourist offices (or people that love the tourist office and want to marry it either)... We don't share your email address with anyone and we never send out any of those cheesy 'message from our partners' emails either. Anyway, snowHeads really is MUCH better when you're logged in - not least because you get to post your own messages complaining about things that annoy you like perhaps this banner which, incidentally, disappears when you log in :-)

A basic wax & sharpen for skis is normally about £15-£20 in the UK. Don't know about blades - maybe a bit cheaper?

jase2472, if you were local to me (Nottingham) I'd charge £10 to wax (only) a pair of blades & do the two pairs for £18. A wax & edge would be £15 per pair or the two pairs for £27.

The Skee-tex website gives some prices, might be useful for a comparison http://www.skee-tex.co.uk/work.htm

I'm not on commission folks, honest, its just that looking at their website yesterday following my visit things are kind of fresh in my mind.

Cheap as chips, Do it yourself. I've got 10 pairs, between myself, wife & son. Get on a basic course & get the kit. the finished job is far better than the sort of basic service you get in Slush & Rubble and the likes. However, I do take them into a really good ski shop in resort, talk to the technician & ask him to do a soft race tune, will cost about 50 euros, but it feels like your skiing on new skiis again.

funny, just waxed our blades last night, I think when we last had them done slush and rubble charged us about £10/pair which is expensive but I didn't have time to do them myself. As you say personal finish is a mile better than theirs - amazingly theraputic servicing your kit and getting high on the smell of swix Laughing Laughing snowHead
